Back in October 2013, we helped connect our client, Samford University, with Team Impact, and shared the University’s announcement of its 17th basketball member, Nathaniel “Biggie” Henderson, a 7-year-old diagnosed with CLOVES syndrome.
This touching video shows just how much this program helped “Biggie”, his family, the Samford Basketball team, and the entire school community. Separately, two more of our clients have partnered with Team IMPACT to help give children with severe illnesses the unique experience of being on a sports team and having teammates.
Virginia Wesleyan College’s men’s lacrosse team welcomed 8-year-old Trevor Grainger as their newest Marlin member, and Endicott College’s football team signed 15-year old Vince Skelton. On the same night that Vince signed to be an official member, he was brought out the jam-packed MacDonald Gymnasium, where it was announced that he was the first recruit for 2014.
Stanmar, Inc.’s own Oliver Snider, Vice President of Business Development and Django Brorer-Hellermann, Assistant Project Manager, got a chance to get in the action as well! The Stanmar, Inc. Duo participated in a charity Cornhole Beanbag Tossing Tournament for Team IMPACT.
Team Impact is a non-profit organization chartered to improve the quality of life for children facing life-threatening illnesses. The organization matches these courageous kids to local college athletic teams creating a team-based support system for the children and their families.
